PRG Mission, Aims and Methods

  • PRG's MISSION: The benefits and quality of service received by members of the Reuters Pension Fund (RPF) and the Supplementary Pension Scheme (SPS) are determined by the decisions and actions of the fund Trustees, the London Stock Exchange Group and the fund administrators. PRG exists to allow members and pensioners of RPF SPS to exchange views and opinions on the development and management of RPF and SPS, and to ensure that those views are presented to the Trustees, and through them to the LSEG and the administrators, effectively.

  • PRG's AIMS: We aim to ensure that the Trustees and Company meet both their financial and moral obligations to all members, and that the assets of the Funds are used for the benefit of those members. We seek the reintroduction and maintenance of index-linked increases, along with improved payments in respect of contributions prior to 1997.

  • PRG's METHODS: PRG members monitor the performance of the Trustees, the Company and the scheme administrators, as well as developments in the wider pensions environment.

  • We exchange views, opinions and information with other groups, bodies and regulatory organisations on specific and general pensions issues.

  • We bring issues to the attention of members, and, where appropriate, help them to bring their particular problems to the right people.

  • We meet regularly, and maintain effective relationships with the Trustees.

  • If required by circumstances and within the RPF rules, we will convene a meeting of RPF members.

  • NB In this context, the term Trustees includes the Managing Committee and Trustees of RPF and the Trustees of SPS, as appropriate.
